Help: A couple of issues

Hi Guys,
I have a couple of issues with my wagon. I'm hoping you guys can shed some light on what it could be.

1. My car goes into neutral for a little while when taking off. SO not even accelerating fast, just taking off normal, it will go 1st and then revs really high and then goes back into gear. My car is auto.

2. A tapping noise from the engine when I first start the car in the morning. The noise will last for about 5 minutes and it disappears. I was told that it could be the lifters and apparently about $1500 to replace?

Any ideas?

How many ks on the auto?

Changing the fluid may help.

Isn't it still under warranty ? You should get that issue with the trans slipping looked at ASAP.

if it going 1st then back to neutral then back to 1st as said above check fluid otherwish could be a slipping clutch in high range
