I hav a 06 ve 6cyl
Its putting check engine light
I checked it and it is P0020 code problem is on bank 2 it says
I looked on net and it says electrical problem in sensor or wiring on sensor in bank 2
but talked to mechanic and he says its timming chain needs dooing
it runs good no noises nothing I dont want to do timming chain then find out its a wiring problem
Any ideas as to fix
I swapped the cam position sensor from bank 1 into bank 2 , and bank 2 into bank 1 to see if code would change side but it stayed the same
any other ideas or even info about thanks

Timing chain, HMMM,
it might need doing, but that's not the faulty/issue here

Dont Tell me, you took it to the Shepparton Roadworthy Centre, and spoke to a Mechanic there ?

I would say its a sensor, or wiring issue, either the actual Plug, Terminal or Broken wire,
You have to take into account the cables and insulation get very hot and can breakdown over a period of time,
so when it does, this is whats happens,

If you find the it is the plug, may go to a wrecker and see if you can source a plug of the exact same type, and splice it on to the existing loom, buy soldering it correctly, and using heat shrink to protect/cover the join, and shrink again to protect t he loom.

Remembering to keep it away from the exhaust and the body of the engine, by insulating it by using some of the PVC split cable conduit of similar.

Would car not being used cause oil issue
Noticed sensor on bank 2 had little oil on it and same sensor on bank 1 was covered on oil when checked them
