Bought it with this issue, like the rest of them.
Never have i had to make so many repairs on any car in 40 years of owning cars.
Bought it with 185 thousand kms, so i cant really bitch i suppose.
Just done the shocks and strut mounts all around as well to pass rego.
I knew this had to be sorted out so now its time.
Woke up this mornin and theres a puddle under the washer pump. Thought it may hav been the bottom radiator hose as looks pretty old but it wasnt.

I knew about it and checked it out previously, and bought a new pump with the grommet.
So the window washer bottle is leaking pretty bad.
Its not cracked.
Filler neck is good.
But the effin hole in the washer tank where the grommet goes, is as loose as a whores arsehole
WTF?
It mustve just expanded itself over time cause of the **** quality.
What other crap is going to happen?
Never had this happen on ANY old Holden.
They called it the " Billion Dollar Baby" in the ad launch.
Thats why they dont make it here anymore obviously.
Couldnt compete cause its overpriced.
I mean, how effin hard is it to get an effin window washer bottle right that actually lasts.
Its a parts game these days.
They know the Holdens are made of junk these days.
I used to buy second hand parts EVERY SINGLE TIME for the old Holdens.
I cant remember ever having to buy new parts.
These things are junk just like the rest of the junk makes out there these days.
Cant even rely on a series 2 onwards as they come up with the same issues.
Fuk me. I feel sorry for you young fellas not knowing any better.

Never used to be that way.

So anyone had this automatic expansion of grommet hole in washer bottle tank?
Ive probably rubbed up people the wrong way, cause im tellin it how it is in my opinion.

It doesn't matter what make it is if its less than 10 years all the 2nd hand parts are rooted. Its all of them every manufacturer is the same plastic cars don't last well. Keep it long enough and youll be replacing the same parts again.
Holdens seam to break more than others.

Its not that hard to make QUALITY parts.
But they have to compete with other cheaper labour manufacturers overseas.
The longer it goes on, the more issues theres gonna be.
The go is to fuk them off every 5 years.
Or keep buying MORE NEW PARTS.
If it wasnt for parts, they would all go broke overnight.
What a effin joke.

Tell us what you really think. :p

Seriously though car manufacturers have been all about planned obsolescence for a long time now and the advent of computer aided design allows them to make parts just strong and durable enough to last the warranty period and any extra service life is a bonus.

You would think the other manufacturers would learn from Toyota and realise that durability is highly sought after by most people and that they will pay extra for it. Most Toyotas command higher prices in the second hand market for exactly this reason.

Meanwhile most US and European manufacturers are too busy trying to make parts fail quicker so they can get spare parts sales and out of warranty servicing revenue further down the line.

Yeah, ill be stretchin their anuses real wide if i ever step foot into any Holden dealer in the future. I had a BRAND NEW 2005 VZ SSZ ute, and it stil had issues with heat comin into the drivers side cabin, and they look at me like if got a cock growin out of my forehead.
And if i get aggressive they would call the corrupt coppers these days.
They cant handle any truth.
Thats the problem.

Let me get this. Your 15 year old car has a problem with the washer bottle and therefore the entire car and everything it stands for is absolute rubbish.

Righto.

Are you really sure that there isn’t a small dramatisation going on?

There is a convoluted hose at the bottom that is known to crack on early VE's.

Easy fix. Bumper removal takes a few minutes and removing the radiator support also takes a few minutes.

Wait until OP buys an Audi. That’ll be a shock when something small breaks.

Will soon find out what it is and will post on here.
Body still recovering from changing the shocks and strut mounts.
