Sometimes it will still glare....but you have to point them to the extent they are useless.

It's the low beam that will cause the problem.
I can't see why you can't just put them in the H3 high beam side and put some Phillips extreme or crystal vision in the H4 side.

Maybe it is Tas....Have a close look.
There seems to be a black wire from a plug on the unit on the left, to the grommet on the one on the right.

H1's and H3's do look similar, except on the standard globes, the h3 has a wire tail and is shorter.
Wiring will be the same on the HID as they are hard wired.
The difference will be the length. H1's are longer and have a slightly different mount.

I'm gunna go and have a coffee :) .

Yep. but going to the bulb itself is only the HT leads. No wires to drive the shutter/motor.

Matty, H4 is high and low. On a standard halogen bulb it has two filaments inside.. One for high beam and one for low beam (its the one with the shield over the top of it to cut glare) HIDs only have one "filament" inside it but have a shutter that moves over the top when on low beam and pulls out of the way when on high beam. Yours have neither so it must be a high beam kit designed for the inner reflector of the headlight. Since you won't have high beams on when driving towards someone.... glare won't be an issue (still illegal)

Having said that. The base on the H1 is sort of half round, while the base on the H3 is round with 2 notches cut out directly opposite each other.

Now I'm gunna have my coffee.
