It sucks but that is one of the reasons need to have full comprehensive even on dungers or be prepared to be out of pocket.

Even if car had full insurance it's voided due to unlicensed/underage driver so saga begins.

Some companies with 3rd party insurance will let you claim up to 5k in damages if you're hit by unlicensed or uninsured as long as can prove who driver was etc...but need to read policy as some don't offer it.

In nsw if car is drivable cops don't want to know...park it out of the way not to impede traffic or drive home.

Carpark accidents they really don't give a toss & are worst thing to try proving who is at fault without witness.

Op just a one poster or going to update thread?

Yes, insurance can suck big time which is why you need to always read the product disclosure statement and the conditions of your insurance within 21 days of buying the policy. You must understand what you buy and if you don’t like it you can cancel normally within 21 days for full refund and buy something better….

You also need to be accutely aware of who drives your car and whether they have a license and what conditions, fines, suspensions, etc they have on their license, else don’t let them drive your car… As for other drivers you can’t controll their shite driving behaviour or unlicensed driving which is why we have comp insurance.

Looked at Enthusiest Car Insurance the other day and they are not cheaper than others, in fact more expensive for me. But if you read the PDS, it’s a really restrictive policy… It’s named driver only, and you have to make cost contributions for wear and tear and or condition. Have a prang and damage your front tyres and they make you pay a % of tyre cost based on tread wear… They even mention body condition (rust, etc) so presumably you pay a portion of body work if you have a few rust holes… Fcuk that…

Guess insurance is to protect you from others and sometimes from yourself so still worth having good comp insurance… better than loosing the house.

As for police, they always come if someone is injured or if there is any danger to road users… ;) There are ways to get police away from their Maccas run and to the crash site. :p
