Hey the original Tonga toys were solid as...

Only later did they start to make them out of plastic but I’m not sure who was the leading industry, the toy companies or the car companies... o_O

VF Redline Sedan - A6 Spitfire MSE...
They looked tough, but in reality they were weak as tin. My Cousin's cool 400ci F100 was written off by an early model Hyundai Excel. Badly bent chassis. The Hyundai drove away from it.

There's NO demand for utes anymore, they've all been sold, bar a few GTSR Maloos...
The end of a unique Aussie vehicle...:(
Don't you mean NO SALES anymore? There was demand. VF utes sold out well before the sedans and wagons. I think the dealers got it wrong stockpiling SSV, Redline, Calais V anything with a V8. I bet if they ordered a few more SV6 utes, they would have sold them, while the Motorsport limited edition is still waiting for an open chequebook.

Yes, but how did the total sales numbers compare? Greedy dealers jacking up prices, or stockpiling to limit supply is the major, if not only reason there's still a few unsold LE's around. There will always be more demand for lower spec models...
Still, better that, than keen buyers missing out due to low production numbers.

Exactly, the utes sold out long ago. My local dealer got 2 SV6 utes at the end of May last year, they were the last 2 utes he could get.
Plenty of demand, couldn't get ANY ute. He was able to wheeler dealer quite a few more MSE's and Directors than he was allocated.

That's because he is a good dealer. I know another dealer with a tram running past had so many Redlines and SE's in their window. Some stupid prices in that dealership.
