How to customise your engine cover

I have sanded off the embraded V6 on my ecotec cover and boged up the inbeded lines. I sprayed it matt black, Now i want to bog up the inbeded lines on the rocker covers and spray them Caterpillar yellow. I have had a quick 5min shot at takeing the rocker covers off on the weekend I think i might leave it till im on holidays with more time on my hands.........Any tips people

Make sure you def use the heat resistive paint for the rocker covers .. the engine covering can be ok with normal paint, but the rockers would def need the high temp paint :) I dunno how bog would go on it either .. Does it handle heat ok? I'd guess its be ok .. but worth checking into ..

They'r all plastic..They have to melt b4 catching fire..

Okay, I've done the main colour, Royal Blue, now what colour do i pick the lettering out in?

The Missus thought yellow, I was going Silver... anyone have any suggerstions?

hey im not sure if u can get the engine cover for a vr but i got a vr and after seein these covers ill check the next time i go to pick and payless

this is the latest shot of my engine cover decided it was retaining heat so i cut the centre out and added chrome mesh to it.

do not try this unless you have got good cutting tools as the plastic is very thick and hard.

also made a nice holden logo to put on there.

like tha holden logo.. where ya get dat from.. shoulda left it wid out tha mesh my opinion

I have a silver VS with gold badges (they came with the car when I bought it), what colour do you think I should spray my cover? I was thinking silver with gold lettering to match the car, but the cover is already a silver/grey colour. So what you your thoughts people.

Why do you need an engine cover??? Painting an engine cover = Quick & easy...

How about you polish the intake/plenum & fuel rails?!?!? lol
