I was going to create another thread but might aswell put it in here...Ive painted my engine cover black with green lettering...my car is green...and for a while now ive been thinking about putting a little neon tube under there so that it glows green down onto the engine from under the engine cover...except I didnt know if there are any neons or globes out there that wold stand the heat. Any ideas guys...??? By the way all these people saying about the heat affecting the paint...there is like a layer of foam under the cover sort of acts like an insulater so it will be far from a problem anyway...

Cheers, Joe

Heat *does* affect normal plastic paint on these covers .. mine has the blisters to prove it .. lasted a couple of months .. then slowly you'd start to see bubbles and blisters, now theres quite a few .. once they pop/crack, they start to collect direct/grime, so become very obvious.. gonna have to buy a new one and start again with VHT paint :|

Has anyone ploished there plenum and fuel rails up as it seemed to look pretty good on ITT-38L. Definately looks much better than a piece of painted plastic which holds the heat in. If anyone has pics of a polished plenum on the ecotec could you post plz as it can look pretty good if done right. Some of the covers here do look pretty good though  but imo i like the polished look better.
