You'll need rear wheel bearings too, you have to completely disassemble the rear hub to get the backing plates off (which is why most people cut them, I'll be cutting them).

really??? ****.... Guess i better get the angle grinder out then hahaha. Thats way too much trouble... is it front AND rear?

is it just a case of trimming the lip off?? or will it require some of the flat section removed also to allow for the caliper??

thanks mate,

The flat section does need trimming as well to fit the caliper.

Time to dig out this old nugget

This thread makes me think that I will also need to trim rear brake backing plate in standard VF SS to fit VF redline rear Brembo 360mm rotors...
Pain...
Wish I could easily put on redline back in plate.

Does anyone have photos of their vf redline brake setup ?

Does the redline dust shield curve over the top of the rotor or is it just flat?

I can go check my stock S2 Redline now.

Add: it does not curve over top of 360mm rotor, but does have a curve which covers hub and park brake.

Any chance you could post photo of it. I am tossing whether to replace it with redline part or just trim it...

I have a set of new HSV backing plates if you're interested Ron.
Here's a few pics of the HSV plates and the MSE rears:
