Don't know Rob, but my guess is no, since silicone based gear is 1980s tech. I think if it was that old tech no one would be buying it.

Wanted to collect my SCA TW order and they shut at 4.30.... I managed to leave work early but early was 4.30. Bummed as I would have waxed the ute tomorrow for something to do while everyone else is sitting around eating, drinking and talking.

I have just applied the thick wax/polish. I found it a lot like carnauba wax in it's appearance. However, it did act a bit like a very fine compound as well. I manged to get my silver ring scratches off almost completely and it removed a couple of patches. It seems to not only wax but also clean the paint. Probably best claying first I think. I just washed and then dish sponged the TW thick gear on as I wanted to get a coat on before I drive on dirt tomorrow. That way I can wash and spray wax it a day or three later. I am yet to buff the wax and am in two minds whether to wool buff it it just towel it. I will need another 20mins either way as the temp has dropped quite a bit, over the last few hours.

Ok quick update, the thick wax/polish is starting to dry and well bugger me, it's gaining shine from simply drying. I have never had a carnauba wax do that, it always needs a fair old towelling or wool pad to get it shiny. Going to try the towel on it before I bother with rotary & wool pad.
