Hey guys, can anyone give me any tips on preperation and installation of a new front windscreen in my vr commy? i have got the old one out with great difficulty(used my feet to snap it at the bottom of the old one. couldnt get the knife in far enough to cut the silicone)

do i need to clean off every scrap of the old silicone or can i smooth it off some and apply the new silicone?
do i apply the silicone to the new glass, the car body or both?
how long should i let it set before i can drive it?

any other tips would be great.

let me make one thing clear, the old windscreen is out. it cant go back in because its shattered. so if you cant see what i am saying its that the car is undrivable until i put the new one in. so either help or nick off.

there are mobile windscreen installers.

slice as much of the old sikaflex off as oyu can, but the painted area doesnt have to be spotless, just relatively flat
