Ok so got the parts. Upper hose is done, clamps were pain in the ass

As for the lower hose, I managed to get the top half off, but how do I get the bottom half (that connects to the radiator) off? There's very little room to work with

You may have to get to it from underneath the front end. Wait for a ve person to confirm though as i'm sort of guessing.

On the earlier models, I have always done it from underneath.

Remove the Plastic air intake manifold,
Disconnect the cooling fan plug.
(Grey plug on the drivers side on the back of the fan shroud)
Remove the 2 x 10mm bolts holding the cooling fans/shroud In place,
Then careful lift it out, so not to damage the fins on the back of the radiator,
That should give you enough room to get a pair of pliers onto the bottom hose clamp.
re-assemble in the reverse, remembering to plug the fans in again.

Ahhh I see why it costs a lot for labour to get them done.

Thanks, will give it a go. Got a VCM OTR so might as well clean the filter while I'm at it

Oh and fit your new bottom hose to the radiator out of the car, drop the radiator back in then you can connect the other end of the hose

Surely it's not that hard? There's heaps of room under there.

True but also pretty darn easy on a ve just to pull it right out, mine burst where the top hose goes on as they all do and I had the whole thing out in about 15 mins

If it’s an auto,
And if you pull the radiator out, you will need to disturb/disconnect the Auto Cooling pipes,
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,

as mentioned earlier, remove the fans and,
You will need to Remove the top hose again, To be able to lift the fans out, and you should have heaps of room, as I have done it twice, because it is a bit of tight space to work, to get the bottom hose clamp off and back on.
Keeping in mind, to make sure you don’t twist the old one to far and damage the radiator elbow it goes on.

Hint: Use a Stanley Knife to slice the old hose, "not to deep" that will score the elbow.
When installing the the new one,
place a bit of gasket cement inside the hose before you slide it on,
as it will seal it a bit better, because don’t what to do this job twice !
