I’ve recently bought a ZB RSV wagon to replace a VF, has anyone else noticed a slight driveline whine in the V6? Either trans or rear “diff” I reckon. Only very slight and stops when off throttle.
Also seems like the AC compressor is fairly noisy too, almost like a bearing sound.
These could be normal, first ZB I’ve had, curious to hear anyone else’s experiences

A/C is a fairly noisy thing. Definitely get some sort faint whine with the AC on. Driveline whine ?, not that I have noticed.

Just a very slight whine that increases with revs and disappears when off throttle
I had a similar whine in Opel Astra I had with the M21 gearbox, they were known for it and it indicated gearbox wear, I’m paranoid it’s something similar

Can hear the air con on my RSV, it's not bad just in the background if you listen for it. Haven't noticed any driveline noise. I think the gear box in the Commodore is very different to the Astra.

Which is hard not to do. These cars just beg to be driven fast on twisting roads.

Anyone else with a V6 ZB notice this faint squealy/squeaking sound at cold startup (this is a Regal GS, basically the same as a VXR):

Mine does it, goes within first 30 seconds or so, doesn't do it when warm. Found a few forum posts in the states about cars with LGX and LGZ engines that also do it (Camaro, Colorado, Regal etc)- seems to be not too uncommon. Anyone else with a v6 ZB noticed it?

Are you still having this issue? (If you still own the car 3 years on) And if so were you able to resolve?

I've got the same. Sounds to me like a belt squeaking. I'm getting it logbook serviced soonish, transfer case and transmission service too - 2018 RS-V w/51xxx k's.

Worth getting the (timing?) belt chain changed at the same time, if that'll fix it?

you dont need to change the chain.
