Wow, going through comments from the start, how perspective changes...
I guess in the last 10 years, to summarise politics everywhere, its safe to say that whilst the faces may be different, the bullshit is the same from all corners of the political spectrum.
Social media has distorted politics so badly - a generation of children growing up in an environment built on clickbait headlines - talk to almost any kid under 21 about any topic and they almost always know an issue based on a clickbait social media headline but never actually know the full story.
Anyway my 2 cents after not posting for about 10 years lol.

Spot on, politics is much more polarized now than any time before and only getting worse.

Oh, and welcome back :)

things that are obvious to some aren't always obvious to others. it's the old story of the guy who fell asleep during the lecture. He woke up after everyone had left, wrote down the equation on the board thinking it was homework, then found a solution to the unsolvable equation.
We will find meaning, one way or another!!

A rather blunt message from a farmer for the outgoing PM.
Nice use of tiktok btw.

ah yes, the good old whinging farmer who literally receives millions in subsidies each year but complains that progressive governments are destroying their business. we have a situation in Australia, and i'm sure NZ is the same, where farmers export their best produce & sell whatever rubbish is left over, locally. what they want is the government and/or tax payer to guarantee them a higher price i.e engage in market interference, but at the same time want to be able to sell their produce at the highest price possible in a free market. in other words, socialize the losses & privatize the profit.
The farmer claims their motivation for "working the land" is to produce food for society, however ultimately their goal is to send their children & grand children to the most expensive private catholic schools & boarding houses. And let's not forget the small fortune they leave their kindred who then sell the inheritance to Chinese billionaires at the same time as vilifying the CCP.

The New Zealanders that come to West Australia are generally the hard working ones. The idiots go to Sydney, Darwin & Melbourne
