Hi I’m looking at buying king springs but I’m so confused cos I’m looking at super cheap auto and there’s like 20 that all fit and all have different numbers like khrl 127 and other number what do they all mean?? and which ones are the best to get also I have found some second hand form a vx the guy said it will fit but I’m not sure if it will and if I should just buy new ones instead. And lastly I know it’s illegal but is it fine?

Check out the King Springs catalogue to see what the different numbers mean. Some are to suit V6, others V8 or wagon/ute/sedean and different ride heights etc.

Word of advice, forget Kings. Out of 10 they are a solid 3.

Whys that ?
Have you ever installed them on any car ?
Yep, I fitted them once and that was enough for me. Never again.

fair enough if not to your liking once, many have them without complaints

I had the HD in old vy ss with internal air bags in the rear for heavy work loads and did the job brilliantly and ok for unladen daily duties.

However in the sedan I found that coupled with the nolathane bushes, you do get some vibration through body but the direct steering/handling was the better trade off for having some harshness in springs/bushes.

I went against advice and fitted them because they were cheap compared to better ones. They were too harsh for me.

Solid advice there.

You only need to search the forum to start seeing the list of stories.

On the VE Calais, went from FE2 to Lovelles to Kings to sort ride height and the feel went down hill. Then the sag over the years on the Kings left the car sitting where the Lovelles were. (Years later).

Should have kept them stock.
