Sorry, I didn't mean you needed to replace the K&N filter, it's just when brand new they have a lot of oil and some can work it's way onto the MAF.

You could also try resetting the PCM, just disconnect the battery for about 1/2 hour and see what it does then.

Oh I know what you meant about the air filter, I've been meaning to replace it cause its honestly more troublesome than a normal filter.

Okay disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it made no difference with the PCM.
let it sit for 30 minutes disconnected
So spark plugs and leads next?

That would be a good start. Once that is done most of the basic service items have been eliminated.

Current plan.
Going to see a mechanic that specializes in Holden on the 9th to see if they can put the new Coupler in. If not, I'll do it myself.
Then the same week we'll put new Spark Plugs in and I'll also have the leads checked.

Leads are fairly cheap these days, it might be worth just adding them to the list regardless. I think you will find leads are only around $50. Just thinking by the time you pay $25 to have yours tested a new set won't be much more.

So, I may have discovered why the engine is idling rough.
I just asked my dad if we've ever had the plugs changed.

We never have and assuming the original owner didn't, Then its never had its Spark Plugs changed in its 24 years and 178000kms.

I too would suggest just replacing the leads, they don't last forever and without been certain about their history replacement is the best option.
