Vu series 2
Hi guys,

I have purchased a l67 to fit into my vu and was wondering what aftermarket fuel pump people are running for them and also would it be worth running an aftermarket ecu or will the stock vu ecu be fine with a tune

I’m planning on performing the following mods
Stage 2 cam from MACE
Water to air intercooler
3.2” 12psi pulley
Comp style pacemaker headers with custom split 2’5 exhaust with x pipe
Possibly bigger injectors???
Upgrade to ls1 fuel lines from tank
Cold air intake

Any further suggestions and advice will be greatly appreciated

You should be able to put an L67 memcal in and be fine. Generally there aren't any aftermarket ECUs that support the 4L60e (if yours is auto) bar for a few piggy backs.

LS1 fuel lines are a waste of time. I don't believe they're any different, and even if they were you wouldn't max them out. Fuel pump on the other hand is different for a Super 6, so you do need to replace that.

Cam and bigger injectors need a tune. Tune is advisable to get the most out of that pulley (generally people don't go above 10 untuned). What specs are the cam? ("Stage 2" doesn't mean anything)

Not on a factory PCM.

.... PCM.... PowerTrain Control Module. aka the ECU that controls the engine and transmission.

You can't do flex tuning on the factory ECU. It's either tuned for petrol or tuned for E85, one or the other, nothing in between. Having "switched" tunes isn't really a thing either.
Yeah obviously not factory ecu that won’t work I’m talking as in after market like haltech for example. And having more than one tune on a heavily modified car is definitely a thing I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t wanna be hitting 31psi with the gate wide open on the street they call it a safe tune and then you would have your track tune for drag racing or drifting or whatever tickles your fancy

Information that would have been worth mentioning in your first post. The GM Platinum Sport plugins from Haltech will do flex fuel with the addition of their CAN expander, and their Elite ECUs will just do it natively with regular loom connections I suspect. Their ECUs don't have the ability to control GM electronic automatics so it's manual only for them unless you get a transmission controller.

Just about every good ECU brand has flex tables as standard now and can advise on the flex sensors to use with their ECU.

And having more than one tune on a heavily modified car is definitely a thing
Because you gave no context, I just meant not for the stock ECU.
