did u check pushrod length ? from the point the rocker was against the pushrod and valve with no play how many turns did the rocker bolt take to do up ? thats a simple way to check pre load
No I didn’t check pushrod length, Tightened them all just so you could move the sides of them then turned crank until each was not under pressure they all took a fair bit to tighten up and aligned themselves in the middle of the spring!
I guess I’ll know if something unusual happens on first start up then I can start with that.
This is how they sat before putting covers back on

if they were on the base circle with correct preload it should only take about 1 to 1 -1/2 turns on the rocker bolt to tighten it down for ls7 lifters ? without a tune it may be a little different when it stats up also depending on the cam u got

Okay so all back together first start all good then road test and feels like I have no breaks and the revs stay at like 2000rpm until I’m below 5kmph then they drop back to normal.
So Steve sent a tube file ready for my new VCM 532 cam but I reckon something isn’t right so I’ve done some logging while road testing hope he can sort it out must be something to do with tune.

Yes I got the ls7 lifters :)

btw she sound great
