Are VF dust caps deeper than VE ?
I have never compared them but being a different light the reflector could be deeper too.

needs someone to 3D print a slightly deeper (10-15mm) dust cap for it to work.

Thats a good idea and would be easy to do on most printers.
I might dust off my 3d scanner and see if i can get a decent .stl of one from it.

Manufacturers hate that 3D printing (outside their plants) may becoming a thing... they can't sell mass produced stuff with crazy margins if anyone and everyone can print up a part... Heck, soon, sintered metal printing will be cheap enough for many small businesses to get involved with custome part printing  Meanwhile in merica, they'll print gun parts cause "constatushon" and "no lockdown" :p:oops:

$100 bucks is a bit steep for a 3d printed cap so if you know someone with a 3d printer that can print for you i wacked this together in my spare time and did a test print to confirm it fits.

this is the highbeam cap i will do the low beam when i get more time

this is the design(.stl) file needed for making the gcode(tool paths) for the 3d printer.
VF HB Cap

the printer will need a print capacity of about 90x90x60.
this should be printed with ABS as it has a higher heat tolerance for under bonnet temps, PLA could be used but i dont know how it would go on a 40deg day driving.
you use the rubber washer off your original cap to make a good seal.
this will give you about 25mm more clearance but you have the design file and you can increase that if needed.

HID work great in the projector light, the ones with the ballast built into the replacement dust cap. 4500k is plenty & still white light, correct adjustment is both beneficial to you and other road uses.

um. A little bit of wee just came out.

I can’t believe you did that. That is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen on this forum. You just designed something like that!

In 10years, I need a water pump not made anymore. Don’t worry, here’s a file to 3D metal print one.
