Me too Pete, it will be really good if we get this block. And as long as I stay in my current role after my probationary period and all goes to plan, I should have my new bigger and better shed by this time next year, one with a hoist, neh, neh....

Doing landscape as a second job. My main job is case worker, helping out the poor. But i have been promoted to supervisor and am on trial. Landscape work is only weekends but not every weekend.

Bought some fence pailings a while back. I have enough to do about 3.5m - 4m of fence. Its a slow project because each hole is over an hour to dig. Because the pailings are green i have needed to dry them. I had racked them for about 5 weeks but it was taking too long. Today i seperated them and laid them all on the ground in the sun. Tonight i reracked them but in the trailer. I have every board with a gap now so hoping in six days they will dry enough that they don't shrink when hung.

Just got the final approval for the new 1500 m2 block today. Cheering because a new 9 x 10.5 shed will be going up subject to council approval. Found out the interest rate today, 2.79%. That is insane i remember paying around 11% a few years ago. Plan is to either sell my home later in the year or next year, or hammer the loan down while rates are stupidly low.
I also remember when i was paying 15% on a personal loan to build the house because the bank said no to a mortgage, as they considered the risk too high. Well those banks and their hirarchy got nothing from me in the last three years and will never again. One and only tiny credit union who were willing to give me a go as owner builder on an unfinished house got by business and were willing to help me out and because of that they will get my new business until the day i die.

Geez, bit different to what we were paying last century. About 17% ? Was it during the recession we had to have ? Thanks Paul K.
Can't remember specifically when, and the rate, as I have deliberately wiped my bad memories record of that period.
But I have kept records of our current house which hit 9.11% in Jul 08. Interest was $1,748 for that month.
There could be a lot of worried people around when this current crisis is over, with possible rate increases.
