How many panels are you getting ?

We got multiple quotes to have 32 kitchen panels (doors, drawers, ends etc of varying shapes & sizes) made new.....all quotes around the $7 - $7.5k mark. This was no carcasses, just panels.

Went with the option of me removing the vinyl wrap from the existing and having them two pac painted.....$1.9k.

These prices include WA Tax.

Cabinetry is expensive.

For the linen press I need six panels all up. 2 doors 2400 x 460, two side panels 460 x 1350 and header board 900 wide and kick panel 100 x 900. Hinge holes need to be drilled. Last time I got the holes drilled in 5 doors and a couple of panels cut for the back boards in the kitchen for a 10 pack of CC and dry. I supplied the materials. I'm supplying the two sheets of white board MDF which are about $50 maybe $60 a 2.4 x 1.2 sheet. I built my own carcass' for the pantry and linen press. Kitchen was of a mix of flat-pack and second hand that I cut down to fit the space. Pantry and linen press I just used pre cut sheets and screwed them together and cut some shelves myself. Pantry doors are going to be $350 a pair, plus what ever it costs to have them drilled probably another $120 - $130 for hinge holes.

Yep, that's why we went with the painting option and saved $5k which covers the cost of the new laundry cabinet work.

The painted items "should" be ready late next week. Will help make it look less hipster mod with bare concrete floors and no facias on anything.

We've still got kitchen and laundry benchtops to be done (about 3 weeks away) so new trough and sink can be installed along with floor & splash back tiling for both and new range hood too.

Finished the balustrade wires today. Now I just need to tension them up on the morning of the final inspection, whenever that end up being. Noticed today my homemade kick panels in the kitchen have gone a tad yellow. Damn cheap spray paint. Now I need to paint them with some white aqua enamel, thinned out enough to get some run using either a small roller or brush.

So house is ready for sign off. I may get told I need to fit a second 240 x 45 deck bearer along the front of the house as that is what the engineer wants, which is a wank because a single 240/45 is within the Aust Standards. Just over here they love to over engineer because they can. I still need to make doors made for the linen press and pantry but they can wait. I have materials for the front fence and hope to get the palings on this week. Only thing that may not pass is the dishwasher is connected to an ext cord. Because I didn't have the kitchen in when I last had the electrician out I couldn't get the power point fitted inside the cupboard as needed. This means that I can't fit the last kick panel as the cord runs underneath and out the front then to the power point above the bench.
