Hi there did you get your Director lowered?
My only comment here ... I shuddered when he said "Pedders".
If you're going to do it, see if you can get some recommendations for a specialist suspension place, Pedders tends to be a bit K-Mart.
I'd recommend East Coast Suspensions if you were in Sydney and it was 15 years ago (haven't dealt with them since so don't know if it's the same owners), but you're not. :)

Hi

Pedders are not my preferred suspension, but they were in fact the ones that informed me of the issues at hand back then when trying to lower a Director with MRC4 suspension. These issues have now been overcome.

No other workshop went to the trouble of explaining it to me at that time.

Interested to know if any Director owners have had theirs lowered. Cheers.

Why do you want to lower her? If you just don't like the obvious air gap between fenders and wheels, then get thicker rubber bands and go for a muscle car look.

If you want to scrape your guts on speed bumps, then OK, you need to get those springs swapped or you won't be happy.

Probably similar money to do either.

Hi

Yes they most certainly have, I also know some MSE owners have also lowered successfully.

My cousin had his Director lowered using Eibach springs. Apparently Eibach make a lowering spring that suits VF GTS/Senator MRC, 25mm drop and used them. He did say the ride is firmer in all modes.

Sounds reasonable as Eibach have been successfully making OEM springs for many, many years for AMG and Mercedes to suit their cars which switch through variable suspension settings.

I lowered mine myself with an ex holden Mate, king springs, sl front, ssl rear, absolutely no problems at all, looks killer and makes the package even better.
You do not need to buy mrc specific king springs, do not let anyone tell you so, they are for hsv mrc, not holden
