Personally, I’d be playing it safe and disconnecting the battery. It’d largely depend upon the mechanic, but some are pretty gung-ho when doing the disassembly work so it’d be hard to keep an eye on proceedings and ensure nothing gets shorted.

With the HVAC and radio, you have to do the reset bizo now as you have had the battery replaced. Perhaps jot down some notes so you can redo the setup after having the rear seal and sump gasket replaced.
