Honestly, the sagging headliner comes standard in Falcons and Commodores, I've seen even VE's and FG's with the headliner sagging, and the paint flaking...

I’ve used the 3M on headliners for many years and it has never failed yet.
May be you have a good technique when using the stuff. Maybe the 3M 90 isn’t so tolerable of a poorer technique?

Maybe @VS 5.0 can tell us which glue and technique he used?

I used this stuff.

Used it when I did the roof in the VS and had no problems with failure.

Probably just stuffed up the application.

That orange gear is good I had success with it in my VR. I've glued heat shields in the engine bay back together with it too.

To be fair, what if it’s not they glue that failed but the headliner fabric came away from the scrim foam backing instead. Bad batch of headliner?

I used vinyl, same as the VS, just different colour.

My old Subaru Touring Wagon had a vinyl roof. I think it was the most practical roof in any car I’ve had. It was a moulded roof lining like cars now. Wiped clean. Easy as.

Take 2....

Not perfect with a few wrinkles although these should be almost out of sight once in the car.

It is harder to do when trying to line up the already cut holes.

My biggest concern is that there are a couple of points on the curves on each side which aren't sticking down properly.

Too late now.

It is going to be hot this week so will soon find out if I am calling a pro next week lol.

Roof lining went back in yesterday.

Not the best but better than nothing.

Then when we went to put the car back in the garage the fuel pump died.

It has been a bit sketchy over the last couple of months but nothing a bit of gentle persuasion didn't cure.

Anyway, after much ringing around today, managed to get one from Bursons.

Everywhere else were ex East, with eta anywhere from 4 to 10 days. No way I was going to be driving the young bloke to work at 6.30 am everyday for that long.

Got home from work and had it replaced in less than 1/2 an hour from opening the car to starting it.

A bit finicky in the tight space but at least it has a hatch underneath back seat unlike our late gen Commos.

That's really stupid and I don't know what Holden was thinking... Didn't earlier VE's have the hatch, which they then deleted and can you retrofit this hatch onto a later VE or VF?
