Yes, the BMW is not really a mini (in size) as it’s so much bigger in every dimension than the original. And it‘s definitely a fail in terms of price positioning if the aim was to be mini like as the original mini was supposed to be cheap and cheerful.Aside from the shape and look, the only similarity is the name.
And the central speedo.
Still, it’s an interesting modern interpretation… and some variants like the MiniCooper S MC40 as show just the other day on Wheeler Dealers (S14E16 or S15E3) seem to have real oomph.
