Back to the Mini.

After replacing the fuel.pump, I decided a new fuel filter was in order.....especially after seeing the state of the original filters in these on numerous YouTube vids.

Note......according to BMW, they are a lifetime item.....don't need replacing.

I'll let you be the judge. (Pics coming)

Old filter.....20yrs and 95k miles.

Only one hitch with it.

One of the rails that captures what I believe is the fuel pick up on the filter housing broke off so it is only half captured and it falls out if place when the housing is inserted back into the tank.

Therefore no fuel pressure and no start.

FML.

Will revisit it tomorrow and see if something like JB Weld will secure it in place.

If not, then there will be fun and games replacing the housing and all of the associated piping that runs across the other side of the car to the pump.

Good thing this isn't on daily duties any more.
