I guess I just think of SS as having a spoiler. As a kid the SS toranas and then the commodores had them, so for me they go hand in hand. No different to my obsession with chrome rims. I get times change and people develop different tastes. For me, an ss without a big spoiler its just not right

Spoilers truly are personal preference...

Last vehicle I had came with a lip, however for the VF it was only ever about the bigger spoiler.
