Vr executive
Hey guys bit bored today and have no running car at the moment to go get some different allen keys to swap my VR motor out so I thought I'd post something.
I bought this car about 14 months ago with the plans of just cleaning it up a little.

I bought it a Holden Converted RHD TRANS AM ( not a real trans am turns out :banstick:) Shacks holden in Fremantle imported it brand new and had the RHD conversion done on it before selling it in 1976. I bought the car off the second owner who'd owned it since 1986. The old owner "restored" it in 1999. And I'm about to pretty much go over the whole thing again.

The car had only done 10,000 miles since it was rebuild 12 years before hand so unfortunately as soon as I started doing some km's on it everything just started going. Timing cover seal then sump seal then head gasket, carby was shot. I decided that I'd pull it out for a mild touch up. Then I realised how cheap evrything was and decided to build it once and build it properly. I've been gathering parts for about six months and a container arrived a few days ago and I was getting organised to start the trans am when my VR motor went. So hoping I can get everything done and cheap enough once I part out the donor commodore to still get this done.

So far I have the following parts:
Ram Air III 67cc heads with 2.2" intake valves and 1.95" exhaust valves that are heavily ported
set of Hooker competition headers that will be port matched 1 5/8 primaries 3" outlet
Summit racing 3" mild steel dual exhaust system with x pipe and a single muffler on each bank
New Harmonic balancer by ATI Racing
New GB waterpump
edelbrock 750 cfm vacuum secondaies ( see how well the vaccuum goes might swap it for a quick fuel mechanical)
edelbrock performer rpm manifold which will be port matched.
set of ARP head studs
Full Felpro gasket set
Aftermarket street/strip harmonic balancer
Comp Cams Muthr thumpr ( 227 int./241 exh. at .050 and .478/ .475 of lift )
Comp Cams 1.6 Roller Rockers
2500 rpm saturday night special TCI Stall
new seal kit for T400 and shift kit
Hurst speed shifter with an 8 Ball grip

I'm not ordering bottom end til I have it apart of course, I'll be going :
Keith Black Hypeuretic pistons (10.5:1)
Butler H beam Forged rods
Clevelite bearings
new oil pump
ARP Rod studs

For a few little Aesthetics
I ordered some new 15x8 and 15x10 fast stars for it, the demon stingers are already 15x8 and 15 x10 but they need rechroming. Will be running 265/60 front
295/50 rear Micket Thompson Sportsmans .
Once I cut the bonnet I'll be putting a new screamin' chicken on the bonnet.
I also want to fibreglass a mount for the stock bonnet scoop with some screw tags into it as I'm not running a Q-jet I can't run the factory scoop the way it
was intended but I don't want to run it at all times either.

Interior.
First I'm really going to try and keep the drivers bucket in as it has the optioned sports buckets ( will have to see how much a 5 point strangles my sack and
how much a 4 points actually holds me.)
I have a Grant classic poly dished steering wheel going in
8 ball shifter
Foot print gas pedal

Can't wait to have this thing done, I really, really want to crack into the eleven's with the right bracing, stall, gears etc and i think with some personal driving tuning and car set up I'll make it at some point staying the 6.6 litre. The Ram air III had the 10.5:1 big valve heads and a huge cam with headers and that ran a 12.9 on a low stall back in the day on radial tyres so I'm thinking with the slightly bigger ports, bigger headers, exhaust and stall I might be able to bring a whole second off it!

Nice Transam. I had a 1980 Z28 Camaro a while back. Still love those Yank cars of that era. They lost the plot in the 80s though.
And yeah, more pics please.:spot on:
