I definitely agree. Ever tryed moving a full competition spec rally car around a tight concrete workshop?
IT SUCKS! I wouldn't wish that on anybodies street car.
(Awesome for dedicated track car though)

agreed complete pain in the ass.

1999 vs ute series 3
I had the excedy heavy duty behind my l67 for about 3 months at 310rwhp and 700nm torque it held fine. Also had it behind the turbo setup wich made 460rwhp and 900nm torque and still no problems. Just treat them nice and dont try to do things you no its not gonna like. When you make those sort of figures in a light car you dont need to clutch kick. It has the power to just roll on and spin the tyres making it alot more enjoyable for your clutch

Thanks for the advice guys, at least I know not to get the button clutch now. Didn't want to spend all that money and then regret it because I wouldn't have been happy cruising in it then. The clutch will be the next thing I order now. I still have to get the flywheel machined and balanced as well.

I have come to a bit of a stand still on my VS for a little while as my daily car needs some work and I've had to spend a fair bit of money on new wheels and tyres (I still need a nice car to cruise around in on a daily basis). On the plus side, tax time is coming up so hopefully I get some money back from tax that I can put towards my VS :) So more updates soon.

UPDATE:

Over the past few days I have been considering fitting the original 3.8L Ecotec V6 engine back in my VS. Reason is I don't know how long it's going to be until I will be able to afford to get all the work done that I want to do to the L67.

So I was thinking of getting an engine stand and slowly build up the L67 with a new cam and other parts that I listed, and then when it's ready I can just swap them over.

I figured I can still use the same wiring loom, use the ECU out of the VS ute, even the clutch out of the VS ute. That way I can still drive my VS while I'm getting everything else done.

But at the same time, I'm not sure whether it's a good idea or not. Thoughts? I think I will be able to make my decision easier after my tax is done...

It wouldn't be easy driving it again as an ecotec after having an L67 in it for the last 2-3 years. I don't think I would be anywhere near as happy driving it.

UPDATE: Haven't updated this in a while but I ended up deciding not to get my engine cammed, just going to do the following work (which has already been started):

-BLOWER PORT A2A
-FIT REAR ROTOR BEARINGS
-LIM PORT A2A
-FIT MAT SENSOR TO LIM
-MACHINE A2A PLATE
-LS1 THROTTLE
-MACHINE SNOUT FOR 2.55" PULLEY
-60LB INJECTORS
-KALMAKER 2 BAR MAP TUNE

Then will leave the engine at that stage because I can't really afford to do much else at the moment so I'll get that work done and just enjoy driving it around :) I can't wait to get my VS back on the road and when I do I will be going on some long cruises in it!

Looking good man!

Have you considered the larger ADZ supercharger elbow? They seem to work well especially with the ls1 throttle body and your new porting work

I haven't actually heard of that mate, might be something else I should consider while getting everything done.
