Welcome to Just Commodores, a site specifically designed for all people who share the same passion as yourself.
Ordered a brand new GM one **** head...Definitely a big gamble driving with the flex pate the way it is. I don't know what would happen if those last two bolts shear off. But I do wonder if it has the potential to do some major and costly damage?
Good thing about JC is we are here to give advice and we would hope people would take that advice on board and fix something that has the potential to go wrong in a biģ way. I sometimes wonder if Paul would be be better suited to an FB Commodore page than JC because he does seem to like wasting money online when buying his parts made by Sum Ting Wong. Just an observation.
As usual this c*nt knows everything there is to know about nothing! The stalks are not serviceable so I wouldn't try to dismantle it.
I always like to see cars kept close to factory but without the mass produced constraint that accountants place on them but I recognise that’s not the case for all as taste and the desire to mod is very individual, so each to their own
And though I always aspire to the “do it once do it right” mantra sometimes the “don’t let perfect get in the way of good” kicks in because “life”
Really, if Paul is happy to do stuff as he wants and it’s within his time frame and budget then that’s ok by me. If his work isn’t done in way I’d do it and it doesn’t last that’s also ok as it’s his time and money. Really advice is given freely, so it’s for him to take it or leave it as he pleases.
In the latest saga, hopefully the flywheel won’t depart from the crank but at the end of the day people have gambled with delaying repairs and gambled at casinos since the dawn of time… Hopefully that event won’t happen and if it does hopefully Paul will post some picks and won’t crack the shites with his punting priorities
As is, I just have to think back at the early thread pics to see he’s made huge improvements compared to how it first looked when he got it (if I’m remembering correctly it was ghastly). Has he done the cleanup and repairs as I’d have done it, no. But he’s not me. Has he taken my advice when given, may be sometimes, may be not at all… In either case that’s ok.…
One day, if Paul sells the car, someone may by it and return it to concourse condition or may return it to its initial ghastly condition… in either case it will be their car to do as they please
In the mean time I find this thread and the hsv interesting in its progression/evolution…
next will be blew the trans, hate this car, gonna sell it....
6 months later...
