V8 service time

Hello,

So i am slowly starting to fix up all the small bits and pieces on the car..
Im hoping to have it on the road within like 3 weeks.

I want to give the car a full service, before i start driving it much.
I would like to change:
- Spark plugs
- Engine Oil
- Manual Gearbox oil (is it possible?)
- Diff oil
- Leads, dizzy Cap, Rotor, (Igniton Coil)?
- Put some nice green coolant in, Its all rusty now!
Anything else that could use a change?

Can you guys please tell me what viscosity of Oils I need and what plugs and what I should do for a good service and a tune up??

Thanks for the advice!,
Mati

Progress on my VK

Hey guys,

SO, Over the past few weeks I have been slowly getting the VK ready and all fixed up..
I just passed my rego check so i'm happy! YaY!

There is a Major problem tho..
Wherever I drive, the car started pissing out oil.. It is leaking from around the distributor or leaking from the intake manifold.. Then it just drips and flows all over the tranny.

What could be causing this?
How can I fix this?

Many thanks,
Mati

Hello,

I have recently purchased a Holden VK with the Holden 304 5L EFI engine.

OK: The engine started leaking oil, I noticed when I parked and there was a big puddle of oil underneath, Now whenever I drive there is oil just dripping and leaking. Now I am not driving the car until i fix it..

I have Inspected the Valve covers and gaskets and they are fine, It is not leaking for there.

The leak seems to be coming from the Rear of the Intake manifold / distributor area.. Today I cleaned all around the rear of the intake, started the car up, and after 5 minutes I see oil leaking.. So it has to be coming from somewhere there..
What should I do in this situation? Should I just remove the whole Intake manifold? Are there any tricks?

Here are some Photos:

This is the 304 V8.. Im pretty happy with it.

This is where it is Leaking from. You can see the Oil.

That is the best photo i could take, So i am assuming that it has to be leaking from there somewhere?

This is the top view, You can see a bit of oil where the intake manifold meets the block..

I appreciate any help on how to fix this problem..
Thank a lot to Everyone,
Mati

It looks like it might be leaking out the manifold rear seal - unfortunately you have to remove the manifold and install new gaskets to fix that

hey,
So what is the procedure?
What do I have to unscrew and what do I replace?
Can i just use some gasket maker and create a gasket for the valley?
Thanks!
