I thought I would introduce my VL.

My VL

1988 VL GTS
Red and full of body rust
very little has been done to it, just extractors and chipped.
Needs alot of work to get it back up to road legal.

Plans for:
Keep the outside looking normal and upgrade everything else.

Pretty sure its just a new zealand thing. Just minor things like spoiler and pumper add on bits. But i could be wrong

whats a gts

GTS is a New Zealand only model with some slight differences.

Work to date:
-replaced all dash lights with LEDs
-Stripped out interior
-Started to strip lining off floor.
-Removed old alarm. as you can see from the bundle of wires it was a mess

-Removed tail lights, bumper, tow bar and carpet to find this. The floor is gone but it looks ok underneath.

Todays work:
-With the alarm fully remove the wiring is starting to look alot cleaner. It will be taped up once its fully fixed up

-Taped up the harness for the dashboard and below that you can see the derusted floor

Guaranteed To Start ? - that's was the advertising slogan for the GTS Victa lawnmowers
looks like someone just bought a badge from Supercheap and stuck it on. But yeah maybe it's a NZ thing

Been away with work for the last 2 weeks, so not alot as been done.

This weekends work:
-Have now stripped 50 % of the interior floor
-And the roof 70 % stripped
-Removed the sunroof and found the seal was falling apart
-A little more work to the wiring.

Work done this weekend:
-Removed front and rear windows (broke rear window)
-Removed bonnet.
-And taped some wiring.

With the windows out it was a good change to look at the window frames. Both front and rear have rust, the rear is very minor but the front needs a lot of work. I'll add some photo when I can take them in daylight.
Also can anyone tell me what this box is? it is from the drivers foot well up on the right side behind the gas petal.
