A $14 can of "Nightshade" and mask up what you don't want tinted.. I used 2 coats.

Yep - car is for sale.. but i want a certain price for it, which it's probably worth it to the right person.

There was a point where i was looking at buying a VZ SS, but i think for practicality i've been leaning towards a VE sv6 SIDI

Sounds good Paul.

So today i finally got sick of looking at those ugly black door stripes and mirrors, so i went to a panel beater to get a quote, $300 for all the parts i wanted sprayed.

So i went to autobarn and bought $30 worth of paint and clear coat and painted my mirrors, black door stripe and front grill. It came out pretty good i think.. i'll polish them up and post some proper photos. It by far isn't the quality of a professional job, but for $30 i can't complain!

Here's the meathod i used :

masked up all parts i didn't want to paint. (i used a full roll of masking tape and almost a full newspaper)
Sanded parts back with 220 grit sandpaper and finished to smooth it off with 1200
3 coats of primer (rubbed with 1200 between each coat)
5 coats of paint (rubbed with 800, 1200 and 2500)
polished with a dry chamois
4 light coats of clear

some crappy photos off my phone. as i said, i'll get proper photos this weekend after i polish it
