Just posting pictures of the new car we just bought ... :D

I'm not kidding, we did actually buy that!
I suspect if you live anywhere around the Camden area, you might have seen it in the dealer. It only had 70km on the clock when we first got in it, so it mustn't have been driven around much since they got it late last year.

Anyhoo, the story goes that we were looking for a wagon of some sort, and even though I'd usually lean towards something more unusual than a Commodore, we've got a VS Berlina we bought off my fastidious uncle 10 years ago, and it's been a surprisingly good car. Thinking around the options for a decent-sized wagon, and particularly something you can pull >2T behind (car trailer), there really aren't many.
However, adding the V8 thing to the Commodore thing suddenly made it more interesting ... :)

Browsing around the Holden site, we decided we liked the Regal Peacock; a colour the SS V Redline is no longer available in. So when a mate told me that a particular dealer had a pair of demos & one was Regal Peacock, I called & made an appointment for a test-drive (having been ignored in our local dealer the previous weekend - no ~$60k sale for them). Of course, nobody told me quite what had been done to it ...

But they convinced me by showing me another car that'd been de-vinyl'd, and it looked pretty good.
Plus - it's pretty-much new, and is the colour we wanted.
They also don't have the original wheels, which I don't like as much as the 2015 ones; so we're getting the 2015 ones included as well (probably should've asked for SS V wheels, even though the rears are a bit narrower, but I didn't know whether there was anything whacky about the rear hubs or whatever after another dealer told me a probable-fib about the rear "wheel arches being bigger").
Mate-of-a-mate is a gun paint-rectifier to show-car levels, so I'm getting him to give it the once-over after the dealer's fitted all our accessories & removed the vinyl.
So now anxiously waiting for Sunday week ...

Oh my eyes......
FYI the SSV wheels would not clear the Brembo brakes, I like the newer redline wheels too. Good pick up.

I remember that care when I brought my VF slipstream blue evoke from there and it certainly drew attention although I didn't like the vinyl as it was already peeling in some spots....nice colour though...

So ... it was dark when I picked it up, to take it to the guy who's doing a bang-up job of paint remediation ... so I didn't get any photos yesterday.

However he's put up a couple of pickies (apologies for the size) of the work he's done.

First some before ones:

... and now a couple of After:

Apparently the grille is metallic black; maybe it's painted, so it can be properly maintained? :)
He's sold me again on the Regal Peacock!

Whoever thought that vinyl was a good idea needs a good slap upside the head.

Paint looks awesome after the correction work.

Sales guy said the same, admittedly only AFTER we'd paid & I was about to drive away. :)

OK ... so final photos.
[Well I might put some up for comparison once the Phantom Black grille-surrounds, DRL-surrounds & guard vents have been installed]

It's absolutely dead stock-standard, but looks a LOT better than it did before ... :)
