Hi, im Tim a new member to this Forum

I recently brought a 01 VX Commodore 3.8l auto with 180000 on the clock. The service warning came on so i got every thing to do the job. before i drained the Oil i added some Engine flush to clean the engine out. I then jacked the car up and could not get the sump plug off (was extremaly tight) no tools could get it off without rounding the nut. so i am taking to mechanic next week to get a service done.

i later went on the internet to try find the answer about engine flush but i found a lot of stories about how it causes serious damage!

i have 2 Questions i need help on that im stressing over!!

1, Is it safe to continue driving with engine flush in the engine? will any damage occur?

2, Service reminder is flashing at 180000 when i turn the car on. have since done a 1000km over this. will the engine be ok to go another couple of days?

hope all that makes sence!

i may be just stressing over nothing but any help would be greatly appreciated!

Tim.

== Thanks every one for the help!!! got the plug off today and gave it a good service, car runs mint now!!!==

Imsure multi grips will get it off fine.
Or just get more leverage, you didnt try hard enough.
I sat there for an hour and a half getting mine off. it was already rounded off by previous owners aswell.
Got a new one... 25 bucks from holden.

+1 for multi/vice grips. It'l ruin the plug but will get it off quick smart. Go to holden and get another plug and washer.

getting the plug off isnt really what im worried about as its going to mechanic now to get a check over, its more how long can the car go on that oil and is the Engine flush going to damage anything. cheers for the advice though.
