ok i got a cam installed ran fine got it tuned ran fine. then 100kms after install it started stalling at lights. i thought it was a tune problem. my tuner found out there was no oil pressure. oil pump ###ed? so my question is.. is it the installer of the cams fault or sometime they just go after camswaps?

thanx guys

and has any1 paid to get oilpump changed if so how much?

The key question is how was the cam swap done? I would imagine it was done by not removing the engine nor dropping the sub frame to allow the sump to be removed. If is was done by simply removing the timing cover etc then the problem is aligning the oil pick up. This is practically impossible to do unless you remove the sump. I could only guess, but I imagine your oil pickup is not lined up which is why you have no oil pressure.

the engine was out of the car at the time off cam swap. so it might not be that.

you dont need to drop the oil pump to do a cam change.

VS S3 would be a 5ltr.

Fairly sure the timing cover wont come off without pulling the pump off. Did it today, but the whole lot had to come off anyway so I didnt arse about.

Fair enough, I just figured you wouldn't be the first person to put it in the wrong spot.
