Higher cylinder pressures cause more blow by past the piston rings. Even naturally aspirated, these engines seem to have a lot of blow by. I'm guessing GM don't use torque plates when they hone our engines.

Spot on, and as VS 5.0 mentioned....It does look like a reticulation fitting
Personally, I reckon it's an ugly chunk of plastic that'll be right at home under the bonnet of a diesel 4wd
Not to mention that all the vehicle specific kits I've seen advertised online are bloody expensive at a cost of well over $300

But being black and plastic I can understand the appeal of them being discreet in the engine bay......If discreet is your thing

Mighty mouse recommend pcv can for future performance gains and highest flow or draft can for stock with best catchment. Race can for track use as it vents underneath hood but deletes all the pcv stuff so will catch the most stuff but has risks of fumes and overflow.

Thinking PCV but have no idea of the risks of each. Obviously trying to save the engine the best while also have highest flow of intake air which doesnt seem to go hand in hand.

Would help with stopping the build up of **** on the valves too with no port injection to wash the valves.

Well, i can say adding an oil separator/catch can to my 202 is well worth it. I hope the fuel will eventually clean up the crap that's been building up the valves too. Good stuff.
