I am driving ve 2010 sv6, last night my car was rattling and giving petrol smell, I checked the fault code.
The device gave me cylinder 2 misfire.
Can this issue can be fixed DIY, I had knowledge about tools. My mechanic said that it would cost around $360.
If yes please let me know the kind of tools that required and just wondering cylinder 2 is passenger side first plug.
Any leads are much appreciated, thanks

How did he give a price?
Did your mechanic actually look at the car or just rattle of a price?
It could be a failed injector, failed coil, failed spark plug, wiring shorted out to coil.
Going to have to find the problem before you can fix it!
Since you are asking what tools to use and how to do it I am going to suggest that you step away from the vehicle and find a new mechanic.
