Lead wiping takes a bit of skill . if you are a bit heavy handed with the oxy the whole lot ends up on the floor and you will end up with buckled panels . It was mainly used at G.M for blending the roof to the "A "pillar and rear pillar as you can't use bog in production .

Ahhk, was thinking it could be an alternative to bog for the doorhandles, (or lack there of) lay the door down and go gently on it... Where can you buy lead from nowadays?

Another option would be to buy an old door from the same model and cut out the section immediately next to the door handle , that way you have the same gauge metal and shape of the panel .Then weld a couple of tabs in the section you have cut out so it doesn't fall through then tack weld it with a MIG welder from the inside . Just make sure you only weld about 20mm at a time making sure that you altenate from end to end to minimise warping .Lay the door on a wet towel or rag will help too . It you go to a panel shop they might just give you an old door for free .
