So I had excessive oil in my intake pipe and I checked the PCV hose by idling the car and testing the vacuum on the intake end and it was only very weak. Does this indicate a block or that its not working correctly? and if so is it just the hose that needs to be replaced or is there more to it? thanks

The vacuum is created in the intake pipe by the engine drawing air into the throttle body.

If original PCV, sounds about the right time to change it as due to age it can deteriorate

I recently changed mine, i went to remove it to change the oil sensor and the thing fell apart. If i didnt touch it, then wouldve stayed together

They do crack so you can lose vacuum.

Have a really good look, but for good measure, replace if looking bit old
