Only thing to check if looking for a space saver for the VXR is the bolt pattern - I think the VXR may be 5 by 120 where the others are 5 by 115

VXR is 5 120 here, same as VF, RSV 5 115
Where is here?

I've seen that information posted elsewhere.

It doesn't make sense that the VXR would use a different stud pattern. After all the only relevant difference is the Brembo brakes and the 20" rims. So far as the driveline mechanicals go everything else is the same. Why would they change the wheel centre sizes for these? It doesn't make sense.

The VXR is basically the same as the Buick Regal GS (it has the exact same 20" rim). The GS guys are using the same spare (5 X 115) as the other Regal models of the same year.

Australia, as far as i know other owners have commented the only 20"wheels that have the 5 115 as per the RSV is the Calais V, VXR 5 120

I won't go as far to say as saying you're wrong as I haven't actually been able to verify with my own eyes. I was of the same understanding as you for a while. I know sites like the one I linked can have errors. The clincher for me is both the page from the owners manual which states the same spare details for all the V6 models (true, it doesn't specify stud spacing) and the fact the Regal GS guys use the same spare as the other Regals. The GS is the same as the VXR with 20" rims and Brembos's on the front. I don't see them producing a different spec in this respect just for AU/NZ.

@TeePee53 is spot on. Only the Insignia and Commodore VXR are 5x120. ALL other Insignia/Commodore/Regal variants are 5x115, including the Regal GS.

Thanks Jack for the info. You learn something new everyday.

For some reason I though the GS also had 20" rims. Knowing that the European market had the 5 X 120 stud pattern it also makes sense for the VXR stud pattern. I couldn't see them making that sort of change just for a market as small as ours. Then again I guess you never know what can happen.

There's plenty of confusion out there. As well as wheel-size.com, these places (obviously incorrectly) also list the VXR as 5 X 115.

Looking at the tagged info for both AMG and Donnellans it could appear they are the same ouitfit with different branding.
