All,
I've had the check engine light come on briefly a couple of times in the last few days. When this happened 18 months ago I went and brought a Toledo ODB2 scanner, but it could never show codes.
Now when I have connected it, when the check engine light is on it tells me there are no error codes.
Can someone advise what I can use to read the codes please? It appears the $160 I spend on the Toledo OBD2 scanner was a waste of money. I don't mind spending maybe up to $200 on something that will work but I don't want to waste anymore money trying things that do not work.
Ten years ago I took it to Holden to read the codes when the check engine light would not go off and the car was running terrible and it cost me $70 because they wanted to charge me $1000 to replace the knock sensors. I did it myself for less than $500.
Car is 2002 VX SS
Thanks
Steve
