5.8 SS-V with an auto. Add 100kgs plus a full tank of fuel, reasonably warm day and nothing more scientific than planting it from a set of lights I'm happy with 6.1.

OK.... Got the lighter socket working and ran a heap of passes to get a benchmark.

Most runs were around 6.8 0-60 with a best of 6.642 when I managed to get the wheelspin right. For anybody interested never buy Wanli tyres unless you want them for burnouts. They are ****. A hard launch at only a few revs over idle they break out and don't bite at all.

So, in summary:

0-60: 6.642
60': 2.440
330': 6.496
1/8 mi: 9.845s @ 74.45 mph
Current air temp: 18.5 deg. No wind to speak of.

Mods:
Lightened Flywheel
Pacemaker Extractors
Hi-Flow Cat
Redback 2 1/2" single system (twin rear pipes)

At last I have a benchmark.... :D

thought it would have been faster with those mods but i know what you mean by traction problems. i'm also stuck at 2.3 sec 60ft times cause if i use anything more then 2000rpm all i get is :driving: but thats with stock wheels (195/70/14's) with 6 year old treads

Good stuff! whats next on the agenda?

get it faster then mine:D:whistling

Reaper those times and mph are exactly consistant with the times a car like yours would do at the drags. like exactly 74.4 mph for a manual 5 litre with pacemakers is what they do, You would find it would make around a 2.20 60 foot, high 9.5 1/8th mile on a track with perfect traction. With maybe 6.2/6.3 0-60mph. I've never raced stock VE a the drags but a high 5 would sound aobut right also. I'd expect to beat one in my VP to 60mph but have him come back and maybe just get me over the line on the 1/8th mile at least bumper to bumper anyway

Thanks for that.... Am about to experiment with a few HSV tunes to see what differences there are. (If any).

if your into doing lots of experimenting, try the dizzy tune trick (advance the dizzy 4 degrees) as well and see how it compares to the HSV tunes.
