I've chosen the perfect set of rims for my VX.. But they come in two sizes..

17 * 7 or 18 * 8.. Should I fork out the extra $300 (dearer rims and tyres) for going up one size?

My car's not used for racing or anything. Simply for driving from point A to B.. Is there a noticable difference between 17's and 18's and will it make any difference to the driving?

Any opinions or thoughts?

Those are the rims.. I reckon they'll look awesome on my Phantom Black VX.. Chose these over the Chromey Blingy 5 spoke ones..

18' wheel will look better, but the 17's will ride much better due to a higher side wall. 17' are obviously a lot cheaper to replace when you need new tyres (at current prices).

Thanks for your advice mate..

I'm still in two minds really.. Yeah I thought about all of the extra tyre costs. BTW these rims are off ebay and don't come with tyres.. I need to buy tyres, but not good ones..

I drive from A to B.. I don't do burnouts or race or anything.. Anyone know how much I'm looking at for four tyres.. I'm not after retreads or remoulds btw..

But yeah, this 17 or 18 dilemna still exists..

Go 18s, for only the extra 300 bucks I'd defintly go 18s over 17s anyday. Escpecialy with a VX.

same as above, go the 18s. i went from 17s to 18s and the ride was better, steering better, infact all round they were better. I do do burnouts, but still swear by the 18s.
Also, any person slightly into modding cars will automatically be able to tell the difference in rim size. But still even just so your happy yourself, you should get 18s.

18's ride better ? I thought everyone choose 18's over 17's because they look better. I only going by what I have read in other previous threads. I wanting to upgrade my wheels too and I'm having the same dilemna as Shounak. :b:

F*ck it.. I'll go the 18's.. Purely for show..

Can anyone suggest any good tyres?

edit: Keeping in mind I don't give a **** about going 260k, doing burnouts or any of that other stuff.. Just day to day driving..
