Getting my vx roadworthied, so far I've spent $500 on this roadworthy and now I've been told I need to spend another $1000 to fix the ticking noise coming from the engine in order for the car to be roadworthy.

Is this correct or am I being taken for a ride? From what I've seen on the VicRoads website it's bull**** but I just wanna make sure, coz I'm no mechanic!

Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks :) The issue isn't that I don't wanna fix it, it's that I wanna be 100% sure that is the problem before I fix it, and I needa hand the RWC into VicRoads before the car becomes unregistered!
Looks like I'll be having a nice chat to my mechanic tomorrow.....

Just throw some Nulon Lifter Noise stuff in it or more oil if it needs.

You live in Victoria, its ####ing cold at the moment. Lifters are going to make some noise if the car is cold when he takes a look.

I just dont see how lifter noise is a roadworthy condition though.

what a twat, if that made a car unroadworthy i think 90% of commodores would be kicked back for a roady

i remember getting mine done, a car that had been driven twice in the past 12 years haha was noise as feck
