depends on if you want volume(amount of bass you can hear) or depth (amount of bass you can feel), i cant remember which way is which but i know it does make a difference, not a massive one, but there is a difference.

I only do it so when i have sh!t in the boot i dont punch a hole in the sub, also then my amp is out in the open and doesnt over heat but yeah u can feel it better when it faces the cabin!! The ladies love it.

Yeah facing into the cabin is alot better for clarity wise and the seats rumble real nice, the only problem with running higher powered subs is boot rattle anyone managed to get rid of it at all? its shocking in my vr sedan

yer ive always wondered that too...

one thought that i did have was to maybe place a layer of rubber (only the size of the numberplate) between the numberplate and the boot to absorb the rattle between them...but not sure how to solve the rattle of the boot door...is anyone has any innovations please share =)

Its called sound deadener you apply it to the cars body pannels and it adds weight to it and reduces rattles. I have NO rattles what so ever with my 750rms Kicker its has been treated to a few layers of sound deading.

Dynamat are excellent

Jaycar also sell a similar product but ive heard stories about it peeling off after time. Stinger also make aswell.

Cheers
