Mullet is dry sump now but that has caused it's own issues, twice they've lost oil pressure when the oil pressure control valve in the external pump has frozen stuck in the open position.

I have seen a row of pics of Lutz's engine apart and then a burnt piston, badly burnt piston.

One thing I have seen on some cars is that they run crazy high fuel pressure in the rails which isn't good for injectors and a potential cause for leakage. I'm guessing those people aren't running boost referenced FPR's so set it way high to compensate for the high boost numbers they run.

yea those delta pressures would be crazy some running 80psi boost, no wonder they leak with a bit of dust in them

Pretty sure I was watching a video earlier, Taylor's have 2 lots of injectors, streets were fine, but race set was constantly leaking, so Alex tuned lean to compensate for the constant extra leaked fuel.
Might have been a day 3 recap video?

LOL yes, apparently he had a complete set of spare heads. On the 1320 video he was doing a quick hone on the bores getting ready to rebuild the long block.

Ahh yes, racing on old heads. Plan was to thrash on it Thursday night and fit the new heads, and then go even faster (for the fans).

Sorry, quicker.
Well, possibly faster too...

Lutz did it hard. After the engine re-fresh it lost the oil pump drive belt on the next run and chewed the bearings.
