Has anyone tried the clear 3M paint protection strips for door protection?
It's suppose to be almost invisible and protects your paint from stone chips, but why wouldn't it work for side door dings?
Anyone here see or have heard of these strips (can be pre-cut or DIY lengths & widths), I've seen them at Supercheap Auto.

Would like to try it on my new black Calais ve (with calais v 18" rims).

I think I know the stuff you mean, but how would that protect against dings? That's more for protection against chips, scratches etc.

Personally I wouldn't put anything there, cos if it goes wrong (e.g. if it peeled or bubbled or if you wanted to remove it for some reason) it would look awful and tacky. To avoid dings etc, I'd just be careful...

What about the color coded strips, can they be custom made?

A guy I work with has just got one too - in blue. They're hot but have you thought about dropping it a little? They sit up too high IMO...

Should have bought the ute then! The BEST way to make sure your car isn't damaged in a car park is to get a ute and 'liberate' a few council witches hats. Then you can park that baby anywhere, no questions asked. Really comes in handy for Christmas shopping. I usually keep a few in the back... Haven't paid for parking in years!
