Hey guys,

I've been having this problem for a few weeks now, and it's never happened before.
If I turn the volume up to just over half the whole stereo stops working and cuts out, but if I turn the volume down quick it keeps working. Otherwise I have to turn the car off and on again in order for it to work.

Is the amp not strong enough or something?
It's just weird that it hasn't happened before, and i've had it for a year and a half.

Any help would be great

Thanks guys

Sounds like clipping. Got an amp powering the speakers?

Whats the gain setting on your amplifier on, if you have one in your car.
Try to lower the gain and see what happens. What size are your power cable/Earth?
Are they big enough to handle the current of the amplifier. You said this has never happened before so it be might the amp. You need to isolate the problem.
If you have another amp lying around install that and see what happens if it does the same thing then look else where.

also check and make sure ur alternator is keeping up with the system and isnt dropping below 12V which can cut the amps aswell.

What rating are you speakers? If they are low impedance or you have wired speakers in parallel circuit the HU will go into protection mode when the volume is turned up too loud.

Sounds like the amp is shutting down, did you do your earth properly ? Sanded back to bare metal?

Check the ohm / wattage ratings on the amp and speakers. 600w isn't 600w.

I had the exact same problem with my white vp. I changed the alternator and it was good as gold. Most likely to be thecause if all your wiring is good
