I enjoy reading about other people's proje t threads on here so figured I might chronicle my latest project.
Three weeks ago, I bought a VZ SSZ Crewman. Even though rear legroom is pretty limited, I like the concept and for what I need, makes sense.
In the past I owned a Vy Ss Crewman, then a VZ Ssz Crewman and enjoyed them both. They were each traded on something new which interested me at the time.
Anyway, I decided another one might be worth grabbing before they disappear so I started looking.
I was shocked to find that despite there being a few around, mileages were high and condition of many vehicles was poor.
The car I found looked alright. It's an Impulse Blue, 2005 SSZ manual. 330,000 km with a motor that's been rebuilt at some stage.
CAI, headers and a nice exhaust, strut brace, knock-off Simmons wheels and a recent dyno certificate showing a healthy 350hp output.
The clear coat on the hard lid has peeled, the interior is worn but not torn, the headlights have faded but it seems pretty honest.
I want to get it back as close to original as I can. Whilst some people dislike bullbars, they're a valuable addition where I drive so that will stay.
I also like the wheels. I always thought the stock rims were a bit bland.
Anyway, I'll update progress on here as the project moves on. Any advice or encouragement is welcome
